A spark of connection—is how life comes rushing back in.
Perhaps at whatever age you are, dear reader, you’ve been at your job for decades, maybe 5 years. Maybe there are things that you’ve been practicing that feel as if life has left it, the spark is gone; painting, yoga, writing, walking, speaking.
How can you reinvigorate life within you?
Try this:
Imagine you have to give a talk to kindergartners and first graders about what you’re doing. Maybe about your job, what you love to do as a hobby. Or, imagine telling them a story about something magical and exciting you have recently experienced.
Now, imagine bright young faces, eyes wide open staring at you, waiting with anticipation about what you have to share!
I lifted my arms up and told the kindergartners, “Yoga is meant to be fun too! Make some noise with me, wring out your hands, and let’s pitter patter our feet now”! Giggles ensued and hearts lit up!
All the kids, grinning just as big as me, if not bigger, pitter pattered their feet quickly while sitting at their tiny desks in their bright room! We made sounds with our bodies, and we made sounds with our voices. We harmonized, laughed, and also got really quiet and still.
These magical moments of sharing what you love can reinvigorate life within you. Try just simply telling a friend today something you love about life. Something you’re grateful for in your life today. Notice what happens.

By sharing your stories, things that you love, passions and purposes, you are making connections to others. You are inviting them to notice and to remember what they love as well. You’re enhancing your own life in positive ways and enriching others lives by calling them into their happiness!
When you share with others, especially kids, your loves and your gifts, it will enliven you too!
What do you want to share most? What comes up? As you get excited thinking about a subject, where do you feel the aliveness most in your body? Is there a move or a posture, a shape that you would take to express this excitement?
I hope you get jazzed today!
Leading kids yesterday on World Meditation Day at my kids school for career day truly reinvigorated my life, my appreciation for what I do, and for being inspired by each other.
